Most of the Starfire Lefties are either model IVs, Vs, or VIs, or even later DeArmonds or Fender reissues. There weren't many left-handed versions of the original 3 models because the demand just wasn't there. That's not to say they don't exist, it's just that they happen to be rare. There are reports of a limited number of Starfire III Lefties floating around in the vintage marketplace.

As for the construction of left-handed Starfires, it remained pretty much the same. Bodies were laminated maple or mahogany; a mahogany neck featured a rosewood fretboard; pickups were either single-coil P.-90s, Guild humbuckers, or DeArmonds; the polished chrome hardware included tuners and Bigsby tailpiece and bridge. When DeArmond made their version of Starfire IV the construction was nearly identical to the right-handed model. As it turns out they made more lefties than the original Guild company primarily due to the fact that playing left-handed wasn't really popular until the 1970s.
