Which pickups are better for a rhythm guitarist?
Hello, I'm a rhythm guitarist and I occasionally have the odd solo during gigs. I was going to buy either a Gretsch G6128T Duo Jet or a G6128TDS Duo Jet. G6128T has high sensitive filter'tron pickups and the G6128TDS has seymour duncan DynaSonic pickups (single coil)
Which would be better for a warmer tone?
(I'm leaning towards the G6128T, but it would be best to have other people opinions as well)
Thx

Yeah I would go with Filtertrons for a good rhythm sound.
The single coils will sound too sharp and 'cutting' for a rhythm pickup whereas Filtertrons are basically the halfway mark between single coils and humbuckers in terms of tone and provide a good Gretsch sparkle and twang, but still retain warmth and sustain.
Although, I would recommend trying both guitars and seeing which one you like better, as you can't be sure yourself until you try them.
Hope this helps.
