The White Falcon was a direct competitor to the Gibson Super 400 with all the bells and whistles that Gretsch could throw in. Also known as the 6136, the original line was discontinued after the 1973 model year. Beginning in 1974 the White Falcon was designated as the 75x series which continued until 1981. The last incarnation, of which the 1999 White Falcon is part of, is designated as the 7593.

The 1999 White Falcon features two High Sensitive FilterTrons, gold bound body and F-holes, and a Bigsby tremolo tailpiece. A maple laminate body, maple neck, and ebony fretboard Is nicely complemented by a gold pick guard with the quintessential White Falcon logo and a gold inlaid headstock. Block inlays, silver frets, and gold plated hardware finish off the guitar to make it one of the most beautiful instruments in the world. This instrument is definitely eye candy for the music lover.

The 1999 White Falcon sound is quite versatile thanks to state-of-the-art stereo electronics, master volume and tone controls, individual volume knobs, and a three-way pickup selector switch. Paired with the right amps and a good sound man, this guitar is great for jazz, rockabilly, country-western, and good old rock 'n roll. Many big names in modern music have played the White Falcon, including Stephen Stills.
